10,000 Households Move In June in the Seoul Metropolitan Area, Including Seocho Grand Xi
Over 14,000 Households Nationwide... Nearly 50% Increase Compared to May
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] In June, 10,000 households in the metropolitan area will move into their new homes, doubling compared to the previous month.
According to Zigbang on the 31st, the total nationwide apartment move-in volume in June is 14,767 households, which is 48% more than the 9,992 households in the previous month.
Especially in the metropolitan area, 10,078 households will move in. After a period of low supply in the metropolitan area over the past three months, six complexes in Seoul, which had been quiet in terms of move-ins, along with six complexes in Gyeonggi and four in Incheon, are preparing for move-ins. Among these, new apartments are being supplied in key metropolitan locations such as Gangnam, Seocho, and Pangyo, which is expected to attract high interest from buyers. In the provinces, 1,247 households in Daegu and 845 households in Sejong will move in, maintaining the same total of 4,689 households as the previous month.
A total of 28 complexes will begin move-ins in June. In the metropolitan area, six complexes in Seoul, six in Gyeonggi, and four in Incheon will move in. Move-ins will proceed in Seocho, Gangnam, Pangyo, and Geomdan, among others. In the provinces, 12 complexes will move in. Four complexes in Gyeongnam, two in Daegu, and one each in Gyeongbuk, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Chungbuk, Jeonnam, and Sejong will start move-ins.
'Seocho Grand Xi' is located in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, and is a redevelopment of the Seocho Rainbow Apartments. It consists of a total of 1,446 households with exclusive areas ranging from 59 to 148 square meters. It has excellent transportation conditions, being close to Gangnam Station, a transfer station for Subway Line 2 and the Shinbundang Line, and Yangjae Station, a transfer station for Subway Line 3 and the Shinbundang Line. It is possible to commute to Seoi Elementary School and Seoun Middle School and belongs to the Gangnam 8 school district. The complex's community facilities include a movie theater, which has attracted attention. Move-ins will begin at the end of June.
'Pangyo The Sharp First Park' is located in Baekhyeon-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. It consists of 1,223 households with sizes ranging from 84 to 129 square meters. It is accessible within 10 minutes by car to Pangyo Station on the Shinbundang Line, and has convenient access to major roads such as the Gyeongbu Expressway. Nearby is Nam Seoul Country Club, allowing some units to have views of the golf course. Move-ins will start in mid-June.
'Hoban Summit Incheon Geomdan 1st Phase' is located in Wondang-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, consisting of 1,168 households sized 72 to 84 square meters. It is the first move-in complex in Geomdan New Town, where six complexes are scheduled to move in this year. Nearby is the Gyeyangcheon waterfront park, and commercial facilities are also close. The opening of Incheon Subway Line 1 (scheduled for 2024) is expected to further improve transportation conditions. Move-ins will begin in mid-June.
'Gyeongsan Hayang A2 Block Woomeerin' is located in Hayang-eup (Hayang Residential District), Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It consists of 737 households sized 84 to 113 square meters. Once the Daegu Metro Line 1 is extended to Hayang Station, travel to Daegu and other areas will become more convenient. Nearby flows the Josancheon stream, and there are neighborhood parks and sports parks, providing a pleasant environment. Educational facilities include Haju Elementary School and Daegu Catholic University. Move-ins are expected to start around mid-June.
'Daegu Suseong Alpha City Cheongaram' is located in Nobyeon-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu. It consists of 844 households sized 59 to 84 square meters. It is close to Gosan Station and Sinmae Station on Daegu Subway Line 2, and convenient access to nearby areas is possible via Dalgubeol-daero and Suseong IC. Commuting to Nobyeon Elementary School and Nobyeon Middle School is possible. Move-ins will begin at the end of June.

In the second half of 2021, about 130,889 new apartments are scheduled for move-in. This is about 40% more than the 93,423 households moving in during the first half of the year. The increase is larger in the provinces than in the metropolitan area. The metropolitan area is expected to have 68,807 households moving in, and the provinces 62,082 households, representing increases of 21% and 70%, respectively, compared to the first half. A Zigbang official explained, "Although the total volume is smaller than the average in previous years, since the volume in the second half is increasing compared to the first half, it is not expected to have a significant impact on the housing market."
