Payment of 600,000 KRW per Door-to-Door Sales Company with Gathering Restrictions in Gangdong-gu
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will provide disaster relief funds of 600,000 KRW to door-to-door sales companies in the area that have suffered significant damage due to facility gathering restrictions amid the prolonged social distancing caused by COVID-19.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic has caused cumulative damage to the local economy, door-to-door sales companies are also experiencing increasing damage due to the nature of their business, which involves frequent contact with consumers.
Accordingly, Gangdong-gu has decided to support door-to-door sales companies that were operating but subjected to gathering restrictions with Gangdong-type disaster relief funds.
The disaster relief funds are available to companies that registered as door-to-door sales businesses in Gangdong-gu before February 28, 2021 (operating for more than 3 months). Door-to-door salespersons without a home or business location who cannot be subject to quarantine inspections or gathering restrictions are excluded.
Applications can be submitted from June 1 to June 30 by visiting the Job Creation Division on the 5th floor of the district office with the application form, personal information consent form, door-to-door sales registration certificate, business registration certificate, and a copy of the bankbook in the name of the representative.
Applications can also be submitted online via email (psc0516@citizen.seoul.kr).
The district office will verify eligibility and check for duplicate applications before finalizing recipients and plans to distribute the disaster relief funds in July. The funds will be deposited into the bank account in the name of the representative, and if the same business operator runs multiple businesses at the same location, the payment will be made only once.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “We thank the local door-to-door sales companies for actively cooperating with quarantine measures despite the prolonged COVID-19 situation,” and added, “We hope this disaster relief fund will serve as some comfort for the sacrifices and hardships faced by small business owners struggling due to COVID-19.”
