UN Secretary-General: "Climate Action Requires Global Partnership"
P4G Seoul Green Future Summit Speech... "Massive Climate Finance Mobilization Requires International Cooperation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] Ant?nio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), stated in his speech at the 'P4G Seoul Green Future Summit' on the 30th that "the 'Global Partnership' advocated by P4G is essential to overcoming global challenges such as COVID-19 recovery, Sustainable Development Goals, and climate response."
The UN Secretary-General explained, "For this, I expect each country to announce concrete implementation policies, such as South Korea's declaration to halt public financial support for overseas coal power projects. Additionally, support such as increased contributions from G7 advanced countries (including South Korea) is necessary for climate adaptation in developing countries."

The UN Secretary-General said, "The theme of this summit, 'Inclusive Green Recovery,' emphasizes supporting the transition to sustainable economies in developing countries, that is, climate adaptation, and in this process, global partnership is essential. I evaluate South Korea's leading role so far, including the 2050 carbon neutrality declaration and the announcement of the Korean-style Green New Deal, and I expect further expansion of international support in the future."
