Recruiting 50 Participants via Website... Engaging in Development Through Various Missions Over 2 Months of Direct Use
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] LG Electronics is developing a Korean-style lawn mowing robot through a 'Beta Home Appliance Program' that involves customer participation.
On the 30th, LG Electronics announced that it will recruit 50 customers to participate in the beta test for developing the Korean-style lawn mowing robot. Customers who wish to participate can apply from May 31 to June 11 by submitting photos of the lawn of the house where the product will be used along with a story on the website.
This is the first time LG Electronics has introduced the beta test method, mainly used in the software and gaming industries. Starting with this, the company plans to expand the Beta Home Appliance Program to develop innovative products that have never existed before together with customers from the development stage.
Customers selected as beta testers will directly use LG Electronics' latest lawn mowing robot, which has been introduced overseas, for two months, perform various missions, provide user feedback, and participate in the development of the Korean-style product.
LG Electronics plans to release the Korean-style lawn mowing robot within the year and will offer customers participating in this Beta Home Appliance Program the privilege of purchasing it at less than half the price.

Lawn mowing robots are products that manage lawns based on autonomous driving technology, and demand is increasing for home and commercial use in countries with developed garden cultures.
LG Electronics applied advanced technologies verified through premium robot vacuum cleaners to the lawn mowing robot, including sensors that detect obstacles, pattern driving for faster and more efficient landscaping, and remote control via smartphone apps.
LG Electronics recently focused on the increasing demand for lawn management in Korea, where the number of country houses is rising. As public interest grows, TV programs related to rural life are also gaining popularity.
LG Electronics plans to launch a Korean-style lawn mowing robot optimized for Korean grass types and garden sizes to assist domestic customers who are not familiar with lawn care.
