Five Sites Including Yangpyeong Pine Nut Forest Selected as 'National Forest Premium Forests' by Korea Forest Service

According to the Korea Forest Service on the 29th, the newly designated National Forest Premium Forests are ▲ Jatnamu Forest in Yangdong-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi ▲ Balwangsan Ecological Forest in Daegwallyeong, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon ▲ Daejang-dong Cypress Forest in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam ▲ Rigiteda Pine Excellent Forest in Gyesan-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon ▲ Chukryeongsan Cypress Forest in Seosam-myeon, Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam.
Going forward, the Korea Forest Service plans to maintain walking trails in these forests and develop mountain village revitalization programs linked with local tourism resources to promote operation tailored to regional characteristics.
Currently, a total of 45 forests are designated and managed as National Forest Premium Forests.

Joo Yiwon, Director of National Forest Management Division at the Korea Forest Service, said, “We hope that people can heal through the forests and find a small pause in their daily lives,” adding, “The Korea Forest Service will continue to strengthen cooperation with related organizations to foster National Forest Premium Forests as representative attractions of mountain villages.”
