Cooking Time with Family Using Local Agricultural Products
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 28th at 11 a.m., Jinju City in Gyeongnam presented plaques to the six final awardees selected for the 'Our Local Agricultural Products Cooking Contest' finals at the Entrepreneurs' Room of Jinju City Hall.
This contest was part of the project to promote mutual growth linked with the relocation of public institutions to the Innovation City, targeting employees and their families of relocated public institutions as well as local residents, and was held from April 19 to May 14.
Applicants participated by submitting videos showing the cooking process with their families using locally delivered agricultural product packages and scenes of tasting the dishes.
A total of 50 people participated in this event, including 13 employees from relocated public institutions and 37 local residents, and six finalists were selected based on judging criteria during the preliminary round.
Among the six finalists, participant Jo Hyun-kyung was selected as the grand prize winner by presenting the cooking process and tasting scenes with her parents-in-law in celebration of Family Month, receiving the highest score.

Jo Gyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, stated, “During a time when face-to-face activities are limited due to COVID-19, this cooking contest with families provided an opportunity to bring vitality,” and added, “We will continue to promote regional integration projects and mutual growth expansion projects with relocated public institutions to further increase the rate of family relocation.”
