26 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Jeju on the 26th, 'Highest This Year'

According to Jeju's quarantine authorities on the 27th, 26 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in one day yesterday.
The occurrence of 26 confirmed cases in a single day is the highest this year and is the third time following December 18 and 23 of last year, when the third large-scale outbreak originated from churches and saunas.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the region has increased to 995, with 281 cases confirmed this month.
Starting with 18 cases on the 8th, double-digit confirmed cases continued with 14 → 24 → 13 → 9 → 13 → 14 → 9 → 15 → 11 cases.
From the 18th to the 22nd, the numbers were in single digits and slowed down, but on the 23rd and 24th, the cases rose again to 19 and 17, respectively, returning to double digits.
It is analyzed that local infections through contact with confirmed cases at family or relatives' gatherings and chain infections caused by confirmed cases from other regions are continuously ongoing.
The incidence rate per 100,000 population in Jeju has risen to 148.34. Among the 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, the lowest rate is in Jeonnam at 77.01. The highest rates are in Seoul at 444.02 and Daegu at 403.00, with the national average at 266.76.
