Korea Airports Corporation "Use Contactless Ordering and Payment at Airport Food and Beverage Stores"
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 27th that it will introduce contactless ordering and payment services at restaurants and cafes in regional airports such as Gimpo, Gimhae, Cheongju, and Daegu airports.
To this end, the corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the 'Airport Food and Beverage Store Contactless Smart Order Service' with NHN Payco, KG Inicis, SPC Group, Lotte GRS, Pulmuone Food & Culture, and CJ Freshway.
The usage method allows customers to pre-order by scanning a QR code (Payco, Inicis) at the airport store or using the smartphone app (Payco) to select the desired menu and place an order and payment.
After a pilot service, the official service will start at 44 food and beverage stores in Gimpo, Gimhae, Cheongju, and Daegu airports from the end of June. The number of participating stores and domestic regional airports will be expanded based on the analysis of air passenger trends and passenger convenience.
