To prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, the competition will limit participants to the first 100 applicants and will be conducted in strict compliance with non-contact quarantine rules.
This competition, held for the fourth time this year, will start at 7 a.m. and continue until 11 a.m. Awards for 1st to 3rd place, as well as special prizes for the heaviest total weight and the largest fish, will be given based on the combined weight of largemouth bass and bluegill. The event will conclude after environmental cleanup activities around the area.
Largemouth bass and bluegill, known to be abundant in Andong Dam, are representative invasive species that lay hundreds of eggs at a time, reducing native Korean fish populations.
