Minister Lee In-young: "We Must Work Hard to Open a Space for South-North Cooperation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Lee In-young, Minister of Unification, stated on the 26th, "It is time to unite our efforts and work hard so that North Korea comes back to the negotiation table and a space for dialogue and cooperation between the South and the North can be opened, taking advantage of the South Korea-US summit."
Minister Lee emphasized this in a video congratulatory message sent to the 'Legislative Forum on the Creation and Management of Peace in the West Sea, including the West Sea Five Islands,' held at the Federation of Korean Industries building in Yeouido in the afternoon. He said, "US President Biden expressed support for inter-Korean dialogue and cooperation."
Minister Lee evaluated, "At the South Korea-US summit, the two leaders clearly stated that dialogue and diplomacy are important for the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of peace," adding, "An important condition has been created for the Korean Peninsula peace process to progress through a virtuous cycle of inter-Korean relations and North Korea-US dialogue."
