Faceless Painter 'Banksy' Major Works, Large-Scale Exhibition to Open in Korea This July
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] A large-scale exhibition of 'Banksy,' the faceless British street artist, will be held in Korea.
According to Art of Banksy on the 26th, the exhibition 'THE ART OF BANKSY, WITHOUT LIMITS,' which explores Banksy's artistic world, will hold its first Asian exhibition in Seoul this July after touring a total of 11 countries including Istanbul.
The exhibition, running from July 30 to February 6, 2022, is a unique showcase of Banksy's art world, featuring original works and iconic murals such as 'Girl with Balloon,' 'Policeman Kids,' 'Pulp Fiction,' and 'Flower Thrower.' Visitors can also see prints realized through photography, sculpture, and various materials. A timeline of Banksy's major works, video mapping, projections, and a 13-minute video documentary about Banksy are also available for viewing.
In particular, the exhibition space, spanning over 1545m2 (approximately 460 pyeong), will faithfully recreate representative street art pieces that give the impression Banksy secretly visited the exhibition hall, created works, and quietly left.
