Pohang City Selected for Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Home Medical Care Pilot Project' ... The Only One in Gyeongbuk Province
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Pohang City announced on the 25th that it has been selected as the only city in Gyeongbuk Province for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Home-based Medical Care Pilot Project.'
The 'Home-based Medical Care Pilot Project' is a community integrated care initiative that provides home services such as medical care, caregiving, meals, and housing to long-term medical aid inpatients after discharge from the hospital to help them settle stably at home. A total project cost of 250 million KRW will be invested over two years starting in June.
Pohang City plans to select eligible long-term inpatients for discharge in cooperation with partner medical institutions, establish customized care plans tailored to their health conditions, provide medical services, and conduct continuous monitoring.

Do Seong-hyun, Director of Welfare at Pohang City, stated, "Through this pilot project, we expect to improve the quality of life by supporting medical aid recipients to comfortably carry out daily life at home rather than in hospitals, and to greatly contribute to financial efficiency by reducing medical expenses."
