Gwangyang Police Arrest 30-Year-Old Man for Habitual Car Burglary
Nine Victims After Crimes Committed Following Release in January
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Gwangyang Police Station in Jeonnam (Chief Kim Jung-ho) announced on the 25th that they have arrested and detained suspect A for habitually breaking into vehicles parked in secluded areas during early morning hours.
According to the police investigation, from January until recently, A roamed around the Gwangyang-eup area, targeting only unlocked vehicles, stealing valuables inside the cars, and fleeing on a bicycle. It was revealed that A committed a total of nine thefts amounting to approximately 8 million won.
It is known that A was previously imprisoned for theft and was released in January after serving the full term.
Investigation Chief Lee Nam-song urged, “Vehicles with keys left inside or side mirrors not folded can become targets for crime, so please make sure to check if your vehicle is locked and never leave valuables inside the car.”
