According to Incheon Urban Corporation (iH Corporation) on the 24th, starting with Hoban Summit Phase 1 on the 14th of next month, a total of 7,976 households across six blocks in the first phase of Geomdan New Town will move in sequentially within this year.
As of last month, construction progress for infrastructure such as roads, water and sewage, electricity, and telecommunications in the Geomdan Phase 1 area has exceeded 95%.
Geomdan New Town, located in the Won-dang, Dangha, Majeon, and Bullo neighborhoods of Seo-gu, Incheon, covers an area of 11,106,000 square meters. By 2023, approximately 75,800 housing units will be built to accommodate around 187,000 residents. iH Corporation and LH Corporation are jointly implementing the project with a 50% stake each.
In preparation for the move-ins, iH Corporation established a comprehensive plan in June last year and has held ten task force meetings with related organizations to inspect the handover of infrastructure facilities.
On the 20th, President Lee Seung-woo conducted an on-site inspection of the first phase of Geomdan New Town, reviewing move-in measures, the progress of major infrastructure, and the construction site of Kumho Eoulim Central Apartments.
President Lee stated, "We will accelerate the finishing work to complete the Phase 1 complex and living infrastructure construction before the move-ins in June so that residents can use the facilities without inconvenience." He added, "Starting next month, a comprehensive move-in situation room composed of Incheon City, Seo-gu, iH Corporation, LH Corporation, resident representatives, and counselors will also be operated."
Geomdan New Town is the first project to receive approval for a smart city construction plan under the 'Smart City Act.' Accordingly, a dedicated experiential smart city mobile app for residents will be developed domestically for the first time to support move-ins.
This app provides lifestyle information such as transportation, medical services, education, and move-in schedules by complex, and includes i-MOD (on-demand bus) call and reservation functions to facilitate convenient transportation for residents.
Additionally, the app will feature emergency rescue requests linked to the CCTV control center, construction site hazard information for resident safety, and K-quarantine system functions (identification of close contacts and support for epidemiological investigations).
