The search and seizure are known to be an extension of the investigation into Buk-gu Council member Baek Soon-seon, who is suspected of illegally securing private contracts.
Council member Baek is suspected of obtaining about 67 million won worth of private contracts from the district without reporting concurrent positions and through a company registered under the name of his spouse for more than 10 cases.
