Gwangju Nam-gu, Seokjeong Branch of Agricultural Machinery Rental Center Plays Key Role
50% Rent Reduction and Delivery Service to Workplaces Receive Positive Response
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 24th that the ‘Agricultural Machinery Rental Office Seokjeong Branch,’ which opened in Seokjeong-dong last March, is playing a crucial role during the busy farming season.
Analyzing the rental performance of the Agricultural Machinery Rental Office Seokjeong Branch from last March to mid-this month, the total number of rentals reached 315 cases.
In particular, during the busy farming season, there was high demand for expensive equipment such as tractors (79 cases), cultivators (52 cases) needed for furrowing rice paddies and fields, and rotary tillers (24 cases).
The Agricultural Machinery Rental Office is effectively addressing the labor shortage in rural areas and significantly contributing to reducing farming expenses.
Within just three months of opening, it quickly established itself as a reliable support for farmers by securing highly utilized agricultural machinery and renting out expensive equipment at affordable prices.
Additionally, the delivery service that directly transports machinery to the farming sites has received great positive feedback.
Currently, the rental office holds 143 units of 32 different types of agricultural machinery, including tractors and cultivators. Through a 50% discount on rental fees, a tractor that sells for 30 million KRW on the market can be easily rented for 55,300 KRW per day.
Also, highly utilized cultivators and rotary tillers are available at around 6,400 KRW.
Furthermore, to reduce the inconvenience for farmers visiting the rental office to borrow machinery and to save time during the busy farming season, an agricultural machinery delivery service has been introduced that supports 80% of the delivery cost and directly delivers to locations near accessible work sites.
