Andong-si Wins Grand Prize for 3 Consecutive Years in Gyeongbuk-do's 'Regulatory Reform Evaluation'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Andong City won the grand prize for three consecutive years, following 2019, at the '2020 Regulatory Reform Performance Evaluation' awards ceremony hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do on the 18th.
According to Andong City on the 24th, this award is the result of a comprehensive evaluation of the 2020 government joint evaluation indicators and Gyeongbuk Province's own evaluation indicators (such as participation in the Gyeongbuk Regulatory Improvement Idea Contest and holding on-site regulatory reform meetings).
Over the past year, Andong City discovered and proposed a total of 63 regulatory reform agendas to central government departments, of which 12 were selected. The city has promoted regulatory reform through proactive administration, including holding the Andong City Regulatory Reform Contest and Regulatory Reform T/F team discussions.
In particular, it was recognized for its efforts to propose and improve regulatory reform tasks such as temporary tax benefits for small business owners, electricity bill reductions, and simplification of documents for employment retention subsidies for unpaid leave and furloughs, to support small business owners and SMEs struggling due to COVID-19.
Regarding land purchased in the Nakdong River basin, which cannot be used for purposes other than green space creation, it attracted attention by achieving a result allowing sales through the basin committee's resolution for public interest purposes.
