Gourmet F&B Korea, a food distribution company under LF Group, launched the online mall 'CheeseDot' last month through the global e-commerce platform Cafe24. Since 1998, Gourmet F&B Korea has grown as a company introducing over 1,000 types of European ingredients to Korea for more than 20 years, with sales reaching 66.2 billion KRW last year, a 50% increase compared to the previous year.
Joo Sung-chun, CEO of Gourmet F&B Korea, explained the reason for launching 'CheeseDot' as "to expand touchpoints where we can meet customers directly." They plan to expand their domain with their own online mall where they can communicate directly with customers and sell products, using it as a two-way channel to introduce Western food culture and recommend related products.
The main content of CheeseDot is diverse information about cheese. The Cheese Basics section contains fundamental information such as the cheese manufacturing process, history of cheese, and cheese classification methods. In the Cheese Encyclopedia, detailed stories about cheese are introduced, similar to how coffee beans are described. It covers cheese types such as fresh cheese, soft cheese, blue cheese, as well as which livestock’s milk is used?cow, goat, or sheep?along with the cheese’s origin. Visitors can read detailed explanations about cheeses they are interested in and at the bottom of the explanation page, they receive recommendations for related products and recipes. The Cheese Map marks various cheese types on a world map to help customers intuitively understand the origins of cheeses. The Cheese Story section introduces various stories about cheese, producers, and other European ingredients beyond cheese.

CheeseDot insists on representative products from major production areas. CEO Joo said, "Just as Korea’s traditional gochujang and doenjang come from the Sunchang region, we directly trade the most authentic products from representative production areas such as Normandy in France for Camembert and the Emmental region in Switzerland for Emmental cheese." He added, "In addition to offline directly operated stores, we plan to deliver new culture and lifestyle through the online mall so that customers can enjoy and be happier, and introduce related products."
