Naju-si to Recruit 'Organic Animal Protection and Management Consignment Operators' Until the 27th
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 21st that it will publicly recruit a ‘Consigned Operator for Stray Animal Protection and Management’ until the 27th.
The consignment operation period is from the 11th of next month to December 31 of next year. The main responsibilities include rescue (capture) and protection/management tasks in response to stray animal complaints within the jurisdiction.
Applicants must comply with all facility standards stipulated by law according to ‘Article 15, Paragraph 4 of the Animal Protection Act’ and ‘Article 5 of the Naju City Ordinance on Animal Protection’.
Additionally, applicants must have a registered address within Naju City and reside there (including medical and protection facilities), and possess a capture vehicle equipped with essential mobile containment facilities (such as cages) necessary for rescuing stray animals.
Requirements also include assigning one capturer and one full-time worker each, having a protection center area of at least 320㎡ (livestock restrictions and densely populated residential areas are not allowed), being able to respond within 40 minutes of a stray animal occurrence report, and being located in an area without potential complaints such as noise or odor.
Applications for consignment must be submitted in person to the Livestock Division (Livestock Administration Team) at City Hall by the 27th, with documents including the Animal Protection Center designation application, business plan, building/facility specifications, and equipment/personnel status.
The city plans to select the highest scorer based on evaluation criteria through a first round of document review and a second round of on-site facility inspection.
In the event of a tie, the final decision will be made through consultation with related experts such as public veterinarians and the president of the Veterinary Association.

A city official stated, “With the increase in companion animals, stray animals are also rapidly increasing, causing serious social problems such as animal abuse, so thorough protection and management are necessary,” and added, “We ask for the interest and support of animal lovers and businesses to join us in spreading a culture of respect for life and promoting animal welfare.”
