[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Six locations, including Gapyeong Seorak Nunmegol Market and Ansan Wa~Stadium, have been selected as new project sites for specialized traditional markets in Gyeonggi Province this year.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 21st that "from March to April, we conducted a public contest for two categories: the Win-Win Development Type Gyeonggi Shared Market and the Youth Food Startup Hub. After document screening, on-site, and presentation evaluations, six project sites were selected."
The 'Win-Win Development Type Gyeonggi Shared Market' is a project that invests 200 million KRW per market to create community-type shared commercial spaces in idle areas of traditional markets where various local participants can join as sellers.
The five locations selected are Gapyeong Seorak Nunmegol Market, Ansan Doriseom Shopping District, Yangpyeong Yongmun Millennium Market, Yangju Garaebi Jungang-ro Shopping District, and Anseong Juksan Market.
These project sites will receive support for promotion and marketing, cultural performances, installation of sales stands and booths, and will be assisted by the Shared Market Project Group and dedicated managers to discover new products and programs.
The 'Youth Food Startup Hub' is a newly introduced project this year that helps create 'Youth Tables,' spaces supporting food service startups for young and middle-aged generations in traditional markets and shopping districts. Ansan Wa~Stadium was selected for this project.
