[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Seoul city announced that the number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases in Seoul from 0:00 to 9:00 PM on the 20th was tentatively counted as 170.
This is 74 fewer than the tentative count of 244 on the 19th during the same time period. It is also 59 fewer than the 229 cases on the same day of the week, the 13th. The total number of confirmed cases for the entire day, after removing duplicate counts, was 242 on the 19th and 231 on the 13th.
The significant decrease in new confirmed cases is believed to be due to a sharp drop in the number of tests conducted the previous day, which was Buddha’s Birthday. On the 19th, the number of tests was 19,174, nearly half of the 34,532 tests conducted on the 18th.
