Cleanup Activities Conducted Around Gwangjucheon Area
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Western Fire Station (Chief Lee Cheontaek) announced on the 20th that volunteer firefighters conducted a cleanup activity around Gwangjucheon on the 18th to create a pleasant environment.
This cleanup activity was promoted to provide citizens with a comfortable walking path and to raise awareness about environmental issues.
About 240 volunteer firefighters removed debris and trash along a 400-meter section from the SK Gas Station area on Cheonbeonuharo in Seo-gu to the Sangmu Jayuro area along the riverside.
They also posted campaign placards related to natural environment preservation. They plan to take the lead in cleaning Gwangjucheon over five sessions going forward.
