GS Geonseol Introduces Fair Trade Compliance Program... "Strengthening ESG Management"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] GS Engineering & Construction is introducing a Compliance Program (CP) for fair trade.
On the 20th, GS Engineering & Construction officially announced the introduction of the CP to strengthen ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management and appointed Woo Muhyun, Head of the Sustainability Management Division, as the Compliance Officer.
The CP is an internal compliance system and code of conduct established and operated by a company itself to comply with fair trade-related laws. It is a system autonomously operated by the company to provide education to prevent violations of fair trade laws in advance, as well as to detect and correct any violations early.
Prior to introducing the CP, GS Engineering & Construction established a CP team as an autonomous compliance office under the ESG department and has been preparing detailed plans.
Starting with the CP introduction announcement, GS Engineering & Construction plans to actively promote the details through booklets, the company website, and internal bulletin boards, and obtain pledges from employees. They will also establish specific codes of conduct and guidelines regarding compliance to ensure the system is effective. Employee training programs and internal monitoring of legal violations will be strengthened.
