Honam University and Marine Energy Co., Ltd. Join Hands to Foster Experts in New Energy Industry Sector
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Honam University announced on the 20th that it held a memorandum of understanding (MOU) ceremony and a university development fund donation ceremony with Marine Energy Co., Ltd. in the university's faculty meeting room to foster specialized talents in the new energy industry sector and promote regional industrial development.
Through this agreement, Marine Energy promised to activate industry-academia cooperation with Honam University in areas such as nurturing talents in the new energy industry including fuel cells, joint research, and technical consulting, and generously donated 10 million KRW to the university development fund.
Additionally, they agreed to prioritize support for on-site training to strengthen the practical skills of Honam University students and to establish a program that gives priority employment at Marine Energy to outstanding graduates through customized practical education such as expert special lectures.
The two organizations also decided to operate a practical consultative system on a regular basis and build a substantial partnership for nurturing specialized talents in the new energy industry by advancing information and personnel exchanges and joint research.
Marine Energy supplies city gas to Gwangju Metropolitan City and eight counties in the Jeonnam region, and is making various efforts to achieve a green new deal and carbon neutrality within the region through renewable energy projects.
