Gwangjin-gu Supports Adoption Fee (200,000 KRW) for Adopters of Abandoned Animals
Up to 200,000 KRW Support for Medical and Grooming Services When Adopting Abandoned Animals... Apply Within 6 Months After Adoption... Services Provided Through Partner Animal Hospitals Linked with Agreement Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is promoting the ‘Stray Animal Adoption Fee Support Project’ to revitalize the culture of adopting stray animals within the district.
This project was established to support the costs incurred during adoption as the number of households with companion animals has recently increased, aiming to reduce stray animals and create a social atmosphere of coexistence with animals.
The target applicants are Gwangjin-gu residents who have adopted stray animals for companionship purposes, and applications must be submitted within 6 months after adoption from animal protection centers within the district or nationwide.
The support covers up to 200,000 KRW per adopted animal for medical and grooming services, with benefits available for up to 100 animals this year.
The support procedure is as follows: residents apply for adoption fee support, then receive vaccinations and medical treatment at animal hospitals linked with contracted companies, pay the costs, and receive a refund of up to 200,000 KRW the following month.
In particular, through an agreement with the animal protection specialist company ‘Unplugged Pet’, additional support such as bathing, grooming services, and care supplies can be received during treatment.
Residents wishing to apply should prepare the application form, adoption confirmation, a copy of the animal registration certificate, photos with the animal, and submit them either in person or via email.
