In the special lecture, Mayor Park Hyung-jun will introduce Busan's future vision and diagnose the crisis situation of universities in the Busan area.
He will also explain the city administration plans for building an industry-academia cooperation system, fostering local talent, and creating infrastructure for Busan to advance as an innovative industry-academia cooperation city together with universities.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun explained the purpose of the lecture, saying, "Although local universities are currently facing difficulties due to the decrease in school-age population and the outflow of admission resources to the metropolitan area, we must unite our efforts to overcome the crisis by strengthening the cooperation system among local government, industry, academia, and research institutes that links specialized research, commercialization, and talent development functions of each university."
After Mayor Park's special lecture at Dong-A University, Busan City will hold "Open Campus Meetings" at various universities in the Busan area starting in June.
