[Photo] Oh Seung-rok, Nowon-gu Mayor, Attends Groundbreaking Ceremony of Sanggye 5-dong Community Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the 18th at 2 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Sanggye 5-dong Office building.
The new Sanggye 5-dong Office (434 Hangeulbiseok-ro) will have a total floor area of 1,272.73㎡, consisting of one basement floor and four above-ground floors.
The basement floor will include lecture rooms and a table tennis hall for community center programs; the first floor will house the civil service office; the second floor will be a small library; and the third floor will contain a multipurpose room and the residents' autonomy committee office.
The completion is targeted for May 2022.
The completion ceremony was held on a small scale to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Attendees included Mayor Oh Seung-rok, Choi Yoon-nam, Chairperson of the District Council, and members of the residents' autonomy committee. The event proceeded with a progress report, design overview explanation, congratulatory speeches, groundbreaking, and commemorative photo session.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon-gu said, “The existing office was not only cramped but also caused great inconvenience to residents due to frequent repairs from aging,” and added, “I sincerely thank everyone who helped create the new Sanggye 5-dong Office, which will be reborn as a space for residents.”
