Tencent recently launched a Platform as a Service application (aPaaS) solution in Korea to support live streaming and profitability enhancement for online events. Through this agreement, IAMPOM will be able to develop and operate (support) various Tencent solutions.
With the offline market stagnating due to COVID-19, demand for online streaming is rapidly increasing. In particular, the entertainment industry faces numerous challenges such as IT workforce shortages, uncertainty in initial investment ROI for IT infrastructure setup, financial difficulties due to sluggish ticket sales which are the main revenue source, and digitalization of offline events. Tencent Cloud’s aPaaS solution addresses the issues of IT workforce shortage and initial investment ROI recovery by providing one-stop support for application development, infrastructure setup including servers and networks, as well as live streaming and operation management functions.
This solution utilizes Tencent Cloud’s advanced technology to provide a stable network environment that minimizes latency and supports various live streaming features (skin beautification, donations, chat window display, etc.). It enables the establishment of an environment where common functions can be used within about one week.
By adopting this solution, companies can significantly reduce initial adoption costs as there is no need to develop new IT systems. Using the development tool SDK, they can quickly build a high-quality live streaming platform environment. Beyond typical live room functions, various user interfaces (UI) such as mini-games and donation features allow diversification of revenue models. Since no separate development resources are required, companies can focus more on their core tasks such as planning profitable event content.
Tencent Cloud, as a powerful and reliable high-performance public cloud service provider, offers cutting-edge cloud-based services to industries with massive traffic such as live streaming (entertainment, gaming) and to public institutions and private companies requiring advanced infrastructure and resilient environments.
Through this agreement, IAMPOM has established an environment that enables smooth broadcasting media related to the stagnant China-oriented entertainment business as well as gaming, beauty, online education, and e-commerce live streaming.

IAMPOM currently supports Korean companies’ entry into China through services ranging from mall creation via WeChat Xiaochengxu to payment through advertising and reverse logistics agency services. By implementing live broadcasting domestically rather than in China, it has further strengthened the scalability and stability of its China business.
