Muan County Council Launches Council Members' Research Group

View original image[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Muan County Council in Jeollanam-do (Chairman Kim Dae-hyun) has formed a council research group in 2021 to activate legislative activities and policy development by council members, and has begun full-scale activities.
According to the county council on the 18th, on the 17th, a review committee for supporting council members' research activities was held to examine the registration and activity plans of the research groups, and finalized the operational direction and budget support along with other activity plans for the research groups.
The research groups approved at this review committee are the Historical and Cultural Research Association (representative member Lee Yo-jin) and the Balanced Urban-Rural Development Research Association (representative member Kang Byung-guk), both of which were registered as the first research groups in the history of the Muan County Council.
The Historical and Cultural Research Association will study the preservation value of scattered local historical and cultural heritage and ways to develop them as tourism resources, while the Balanced Urban-Rural Development Research Association will research policy measures to resolve imbalances between new urban areas and rural regions.
These research groups plan to produce effective legislative and policy outcomes through field visits, policy seminars, discussions, and commissioned research in the future.
