Gangdong-gu Crisis Family Integrated Support Center Operates Domestic Violence Crisis Counseling
Supporting At-Risk Families Through Customized Counseling and Integrated Case Management for Welfare Service Connection... April 21 Meeting to Strengthen Cooperation in At-Risk Family Integrated Support System
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is actively identifying and supporting families in crisis through the ‘Gangdong-gu Integrated Support Center for Families in Crisis,’ established in October last year.
The Integrated Support Center for Families in Crisis, operated in collaboration between the district and Gangdong Police Station, provides customized counseling and connects welfare services through integrated case management to help families facing crises such as domestic violence and abuse return to normal daily life.
The center employs a total of four staff members: an Abuse Prevention Officer (APO), an integrated case manager, and two counselors, who systematically divide roles to ensure efficient case management and support linkage.
On the 21st of last month, a meeting was held with Gangdong Police Station to strengthen the cooperative relationship of the integrated support system for families in crisis. Through this meeting, it was decided to enhance the expertise of personnel and provide in-depth counseling to reduce the recidivism rate of domestic violence.
In addition to counseling, when an emergency occurs in families in crisis being monitored following reports to the police station, the Abuse Prevention Officer (APO) and the integrated case manager conduct joint visits for initial response.
