Gwangju Dong-gu, Gwangju Representative Participates in 'Korea Education Expo'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 17th that it will participate in the '18th Korea Education Expo' held at COEX in Seoul from the 17th to the 19th as a representative of Gwangju autonomous districts.
Now in its 18th year, the Korea Education Expo is Asia's largest education specialized exhibition, attracting about 40,000 visitors annually. This year, under the theme 'Education is the Future,' more than 220 companies are participating.
Dong-gu, participating for the first time in this expo, will operate a solo booth as a representative city of the Gwangju area along with 16 regional representative cities, promoting Dong-gu as a lifelong learning city.
So far, Dong-gu has actively promoted the expansion of lifelong learning infrastructure and various lifelong education projects, including the 15th anniversary symposium of being designated as a lifelong learning city and the opening of the lifelong learning center.

Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu said, "We will actively support this expo as an opportunity to lead interest and public opinion on lifelong education networks and lifelong education," adding, "Going forward, Dong-gu will establish itself as a lifelong education hub city through discovering collaborations among lifelong education institutions and developing demand-tailored programs."
