Gwangjin-gu Online Learning Content 'Jipkok! Experience Program' Operation
Operating 'Stay-at-Home! Experience Program' for Elementary and Middle School Students in 4 Sessions... Recruiting 100 Participants for 1st Session Kit Experience Until the 28th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is operating an online learning content program called "Stay Home! Experience Program" for elementary and middle school students who have fewer opportunities for field trips due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
This program was prepared to help students, who are unable to participate in various activities due to social distancing measures and non-face-to-face education, fill the gap in field trips through online experiences.
The program will be held four times from this month starting with the first session, until November, and can be accessed on the Gwangjin-gu Office website and official YouTube channel.
The content includes visits by the district office's responsible officials to various cultural experience facilities, where they introduce and experience the sites firsthand, and provide guidance on how to use and precautions for the experience kits provided for each session.
Experience kits will be provided to 100 people per session, and if the number of applicants exceeds the limit, participants will be selected randomly. To apply for the experience kits, applicants must watch the video on the district office website's online application menu, write the correct answer to the quiz in the video, and submit the application form.
The first session of this month is themed "Jobs in the 4th Industrial Revolution Era with a 3D Pen," featuring visits to Korea Job World and Haerum Social Cooperative, where participants will experience making dreamcatchers with a 3D pen.
Applications for the experience kits can be made by elementary and middle school students or their parents on the district office website from the 17th to the 28th of this month.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "In these times when it is difficult to go on direct experiential learning due to COVID-19, I hope this stay-home experience program, which can be enjoyed anytime and anywhere, will help students' learning," and added, "I also hope families spend special time together through the experience kits."
Meanwhile, in July, the program will visit the Seoul City Astronomical Observatory and the National Gwacheon Science Museum with the theme "Stories of the Night Sky in the City," and in September, it will visit the Seoul Reuse Plaza with the theme "Let's Learn About Sorting Waste Together!"
