Min Jwahong Appointed as New Deputy Governor of the Bank of Korea and Director of Financial Stability Bureau

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Bank of Korea announced on the 14th that it has appointed Min Jwahong, Director of the Financial Stability Bureau, to the vacant position of Deputy Governor. Min's term as the new Deputy Governor will last until May 16, 2024.
Min joined the Bank of Korea in 1989. Since then, he has worked in the Financial Market Department, International Cooperation Office, Policy Advisor, Financial Settlement Department, and Financial Stability Bureau.
Additionally, from February 2015 for three years, he served as the Director of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance's Livelihood Economy Policy Office, contributing to the formulation and execution of government economic policies.

The Bank of Korea expressed expectations that "based on his outstanding work performance demonstrated during his appointments such as Director of the Financial Stability Bureau and his diverse experience in domestic and international cooperation, he will contribute to the development of the Bank's operations."
