President Moon Condoles the Passing of Late Lee Seon-ho: "We Will Strive to Create a Safe Country"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the afternoon of the 13th, President Moon Jae-in visited the funeral hall of the late Lee Seon-ho, who died in an industrial accident while working at Pyeongtaek Port, to console the bereaved family and stated, "We will strive to create a safe country."
President Moon said, "This was an accident that occurred within a national facility, and not only was there a lack of safety management beforehand, but the post-accident measures were also insufficient in many ways," adding, "I promised to make a country where workers can live without worries about safety, and I feel sorry."
He also said, "Taking this accident as an opportunity, we will pay more attention to industrial safety and work to build a safe country."
Lee’s father said, "There must be a thorough investigation of the cause and punishment of those responsible, but please, this kind of accident must end now," and expressed gratitude to President Moon, saying, "Our child’s feelings of injustice have been greatly eased by this condolence."
