[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) expressed its welcome on the 13th for the government's announced 'K-Semiconductor Strategy' and urged support through measures such as the 'Semiconductor Special Act.'
On the afternoon of the same day, the FKI issued a statement under the name of Yoo Hwan-ik, Director of Corporate Policy, regarding the government's 'K-Semiconductor Strategy,' stating, "We welcome the government's determination to realize a comprehensive semiconductor powerhouse."
The FKI emphasized, "As major countries including the United States and China are engaged in a semiconductor hegemony competition that determines their national fate, it is only natural for the government to respond at the national level to support our semiconductor industry from now on," adding, "For policies that our companies can truly feel, the National Assembly must promptly enact the 'Semiconductor Special Act.'"
