During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the necessity of international cooperation for global food security and agreed to continue cooperation for the development of agriculture and rural areas in both countries.
In particular, Minister Kim requested U.S. interest in the P4G Summit hosted by South Korea on the 30th and 31st, and both sides agreed to make joint efforts to respond to climate change in the agriculture and rural sectors.

This meeting was initiated at the request of the U.S. side following Secretary Vilsack's inauguration on February 24. It is understood that video meetings are being held with agriculture ministers of major countries, including South Korea.
