Inspection of Progress on Campsite and Infrastructure Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Jeong Young-ae, Minister of Gender Equality and Family and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for the 2023 World Scout Jamboree, will visit the World Jamboree campsite development site in Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do on the 13th.
The World Scout Jamboree is an event where 50,000 youth from over 170 countries gather for international exchange, featuring camping, cultural exchanges, and various performances and exhibitions. It will be held in the Saemangeum area of Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do from August 1, 2023, for 12 days.
On this day, Minister Jeong will tour the event site area with co-chairperson Congressman Kim Yoon-duk and focus on inspecting the progress of campsite development and infrastructure facilities.
The World Jamboree Organizing Committee is establishing detailed execution plans by sector such as safety, programs, medical care, meals, transportation, and supplies based on the '2023 Saemangeum 25th World Scout Jamboree Comprehensive Plan' established last March. To expand participation, they are continuously engaging with key representatives of delegations from various countries and actively promoting the event.
The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family plans to check the overall preparation status of the event and aims to make the World Jamboree a model case of international youth exchange in the post-COVID-19 era.
