Gangseo-gu, Seoul Publishes Welfare Resource Guidebook 'Gangseo Welfare Da(Many) Ieum'
Classification into 9 areas including jobs, housing, and care; welfare services by field, target support included... 250 copies distributed to Dong Community Centers, Comprehensive Social Welfare Centers, and related facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Various welfare resources throughout Gangseo-gu, Seoul, are connected in a single book.
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Noh Hyun-song) announced the publication of the welfare resource guidebook "Gangseo Welfare Da(Many)ieum," which will be distributed to each community service center, comprehensive social welfare center, and related facilities.
This book contains various welfare resources supported by both the public and private sectors in Gangseo-gu, categorized by field.
Although the district and many welfare facilities in the area have prepared welfare resources for residents, many residents do not receive support because they do not know where to apply for the welfare services they need or whether they are eligible.
Accordingly, the district has published this booklet to provide comprehensive welfare information, activate linkage between welfare institutions, and allow residents to easily check welfare services supported throughout Gangseo-gu at a glance.
Since October last year, a full survey was conducted on welfare services and programs held by public and private institutions in the area, and based on this, a guidebook integrating information on various welfare resources was produced.
"Gangseo Welfare Da(Many)ieum" classifies the various welfare resources prepared by each institution into nine categories: ▲Employment ▲Housing ▲Daily Life ▲Physical Health and Medical Care ▲Mental Health and Psychological Emotional Support ▲Protection, Care, and Childcare ▲Education ▲Culture and Leisure ▲Safety and Rights Protection.
This is to make it easy for residents encountering the guidebook for the first time to find the information they need.
Each category provides detailed information on support content, eligibility, supporting institutions, and usage methods, allowing residents to grasp local welfare resources at a glance. The guidebook comprehensively covers information on welfare resources in Gangseo-gu in one volume.
A total of 250 copies of the produced book will be distributed to each community service center and local social welfare facilities.
It will also be posted on the Gangseo-gu Office website so that anyone in need can access it.
A district official said, "Through the newly produced book, we hope to integrate welfare resources that were divided by institution so that residents can more easily use the welfare services they need," adding, "We will continue to provide various welfare information and strive to ensure residents do not miss out on the support they need."
