"80% Preferential Exchange Rate"... Post Office Launches 'Fintech-Type Overseas Remittance' on the 13th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] The Ministry of Science and ICT's Korea Post has launched a fast, convenient, and economical fintech-type 'Simple Overseas Remittance' service starting from the 13th.
Simple Overseas Remittance is a service that allows remittances to 43 major countries through the Korea Post Smart Banking app in partnership with WireBarley Inc. It is more convenient to use than traditional overseas remittance, featuring shorter transfer times, various receiving methods, and low remittance fees. In particular, it offers an 80% preferential exchange rate benefit compared to regular overseas remittances, making it more economical.
During the launch event period, customers who sign up for and use 'Simple Overseas Remittance' via the Korea Post Smart Banking app can receive various benefits such as free remittance, coffee coupons, and prizes.
Park Jong-seok, head of the Korea Post, said, "With the rapid growth of the fintech industry, faster and more convenient services have become possible," adding, "We will strive to enable more people to use Korea Post's foreign exchange services through continuous service improvements."
