[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyun-jung] The National Tax Service announced on the 11th that it has launched the 'National Policy Participation Group,' representing public participation in national tax administration. The launch ceremony was held as a combined online and offline event using a virtual studio, the first government agency to do so in response to the COVID-19 situation.
The National Tax Service has integrated and reorganized the previously dispersed public participation organizations to establish the National Policy Participation Group, selecting a total of 1,135 members. The group is balanced in terms of region, age, and gender, and includes tax agents, related organizations, and professional group representatives.
The Policy Participation Group will play various roles, such as proposing policy ideas from the taxpayers' perspective and identifying problems and improvement measures in the tax field. In particular, from this year, it will take a leading role in creating newly established public participation policies.
