Peugeot Launches 'New Peugeot 3008 SUV' "Enhanced Design + Autonomous Driving"
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Peugeot announced on the 10th that it has launched the facelifted model of the popular sport utility vehicle (SUV), the 'New Peugeot 3008 SUV,' and has begun full-scale sales.
The Peugeot 3008 SUV has sold over 1 million units worldwide since its global launch in 2016, and in Korea, it has achieved cumulative sales of 5,820 units from its first release in April 2017 through March of this year, accounting for 40.8% of the brand's total sales as a best-selling model.
It was the first SUV ever to be named 'European Car of the Year' at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
The New Peugeot 3008 SUV features Peugeot's new design language, with a more striking and luxurious exterior design and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) upgraded to autonomous driving level 2.
The most noticeable change is the front. The integrated frameless grille, emphasizing connectivity with the body and headlamps, completes the sleek yet dignified SUV style. It applies Peugeot's new signature daytime running lights (DRL) shaped like a lion's fangs and is equipped with newly designed full LED headlamps, including fog lamps.
The 3D LED rear lamps, shaped like a lion's claw marks, have evolved into a more three-dimensional form and are finished with smoky glass, creating a modern and elegant style.
The ADAS has been further enhanced to autonomous driving level 2. It includes 'Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go (ACC with Stop & Go),' which supports maintaining distance from the vehicle ahead as well as stopping and restarting, and 'Lane Position Assist (LPA),' which helps keep the vehicle centered in the lane.
Additionally, it is equipped with best-in-class advanced driver assistance systems such as Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Active Blind Spot Detection (ABSD), Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), and Auto High Beam Assist (HBA).
It also features a 1.5-liter BlueHDi engine that meets the strengthened Euro 6d standards. Carbon dioxide emissions are 118g/km, improved by 12.6% compared to the previous model, and nitrogen oxide (Nox) emissions also meet the enhanced standards.
The official fuel efficiency is 15.8 km/ℓ combined (14.5 km/ℓ city, 17.8 km/ℓ highway), a 12.6% improvement over the previous model (14 km/ℓ combined), boasting best-in-class fuel efficiency.
