Gwangju Office of Education Conducts National Proposal Contest for the First Half of This Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will hold a public contest for proposals on Gwangju education policies for the public and civil servants from the 10th to the 21st.
According to the Office of Education on the 9th, this contest was prepared to actively discover vivid opinions from the field and innovative ideas regarding Gwangju education policies.
The contest topics include ▲Strengthening eco-friendly future education in response to the climate crisis ▲Improvement plans for the ‘way of working’ to operate efficient educational administration ▲Activation plans for educational governance through communication among educational stakeholders (students, parents, citizens) ▲Other plans for the development of Gwangju education.
Anyone interested in Gwangju education can participate. Applications can be submitted through the Public Proposal window on the People’s Petition website until the 21st.
Submitted proposals will be reviewed by the relevant departments to decide on adoption, and if adopted, they will undergo evaluation by the Proposal Review Committee. Depending on the grade, the Superintendent’s Commendation and prize money will be awarded.
The results of the evaluation are scheduled to be announced on the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education website in July.

Jang Sang-min, head of the Policy Planning Division at the Office of Education, said, “We hope that various ideas will be discovered through this contest and utilized as policies that the public can sympathize with,” and added, “We ask for active participation and great interest so that many excellent ideas can be found.”
