Among the ruling party's presidential candidates, Park is the first to officially announce his candidacy.
He stated, "Generational change in politics must be achieved to enable social reform for generational integration connecting the industrialization generation, democratization generation, and the millennial generation," and added, "I will be a president who leads efforts to reach intergenerational concessions and agreements in all areas unfavorable to youth and future generations, such as housing issues, asset growth, pension reform, labor reform, and education reform."
Park presented the concept of a ‘Happy Nation’ as his presidential blueprint. He said, "The people of the Republic of Korea lifted the poorest country in the world to create the era of the ‘industrial nation’ and achieved a ‘democratic nation’ by standing against unprecedented iron-fist rule," and argued, "A ‘Happy Nation’ is a country where the minimum safety net of welfare, such as ‘security’ and ‘relief,’ is not the limit, but where the people's wishes are fulfilled and the rewards of their efforts are institutionally guaranteed." To this end, he proposed pledges including ▲National Happy Housing ▲National Happy Assets ▲National Happy Military Service ▲National Happy Dividends ▲National Happy Startups.
