Gwangju Dong-gu to Host 'Ogammanjok Pungnyu Sanchaek' Starting the 12th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 7th that it will carry out the ‘Five Senses Satisfied Pungnyu Walk’ program, themed around local cultural heritage resources, for two months starting from the 12th.
This project, selected for five consecutive years in the ‘Saengsaeng Cultural Heritage’ initiative organized by the Cultural Heritage Administration, aims to provide opportunities to discover the historical meaning and value of cultural heritage through historical and cultural experience programs. It plans to conduct nine sessions each of ▲Exploring and Experiencing Our Neighborhood’s Cultural Heritage and ▲The O Ji-ho Program from Paintings.
First, ‘Exploring and Experiencing Our Neighborhood’s Cultural Heritage’ involves a preliminary explanation of Dong-gu’s cultural heritage followed by hands-on experience and exploration.
Also, ‘The O Ji-ho Program from Paintings’ is designed as an educational and experiential program about the painter O Ji-ho, featuring a viewing of the documentary performance video ‘Painter of Light O Ji-ho.’
This program will be conducted in small groups in compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, and participation is possible by pre-registering through the mobile app ‘Dong-gu Dodream’ or by phone.
