[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City supports foreign residents to freely showcase their talents for the local community.
Gwangsan-gu announced on the 6th that it is recruiting members for the Gwangsan-gu Foreign Residents Talent Donation Group until the 31st.
Last April, during the COVID-19 situation, Gwangsan-gu formed a multilingual interpretation team to establish a thorough quarantine system.
The interpretation team contributed to the rapid and accurate delivery of quarantine guidelines by providing 1:1 matching for foreign residents in self-quarantine and guiding them through health questionnaires.
This year, Gwangsan-gu plans to expand the interpretation team and recruit talented foreign residents who voluntarily wish to serve the local community.
The recruitment fields include ▲Interpretation Support ▲Voluntary Crime Prevention ▲Technical Skills, and applicants can apply for multiple fields.
The Interpretation Support field mainly involves interpretation volunteering related to public administrative services, the Voluntary Crime Prevention field focuses on crime prevention activities in areas with a high concentration of foreign residents, and the Technical Skills field allows volunteering using professional talents in areas such as hairdressing, home repair, and arts and sports.
Any foreign resident of Gwangsan-gu with valid residency status and Korean communication ability can apply for the Talent Donation Group. It is also possible if the main activity location, such as the workplace, is in Gwangsan-gu.
A total of about 100 people will be selected, and a fixed activity allowance will be provided during their activities.
