[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Kim Geum-ok, former Secretary for Civil Society at the Blue House, has been appointed as the 3rd Chairperson of the Korea Institute for Healthy Family.
Chairperson Kim served as the Executive Director of the Korean Women's Associations United from 2004 to 2017, Secretary for Civil Society at the Blue House from 2017 to August 2018, and as an advisory member of the Presidential Policy Planning Committee from May 2019.
Based on her field experience participating in civil society activities and national governance, she is regarded as the right person to smoothly address family-related issues arising from societal changes such as the increase in single-person households and diversification of family types.
