Chonnam National University Consortium Selected as Digital Innovation Sharing University in Artificial Intelligence Field
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Chonnam National University consortium has been selected for the artificial intelligence field's 'Digital New Technology Talent Cultivation Innovation Shared University.'
The Chonnam National University consortium announced on the 3rd that it had been selected for the artificial intelligence field's 'Digital New Technology Talent Cultivation Innovation Shared University' (hereinafter Digital Innovation Shared University) project announced by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Accordingly, the Chonnam National University consortium will receive 10.2 billion KRW in support over six years until 2026 and, together with participating universities, develop convergence courses in fields such as medical care (Chonnam National University), public administration (University of Seoul), education and economics/management (Sungkyunkwan University), agriculture (Jeonju University), and smart city (Seoul National University of Science and Technology). They also plan to enhance educational accessibility by establishing a video discussion system.
Additionally, educational materials developed in each field will be shared and utilized by all universities participating in the project, and the results will be disseminated by making them available not only to universities not participating in the project but also to the general public.
The Digital Innovation Shared University project, a new task under the 'Korean New Deal,' aims to jointly utilize educational resources in new technology fields scattered across multiple universities and establish a cooperative system involving industries, research institutes, academic societies, and private organizations to cultivate core talents at the national level.
The project fields (host universities) include eight areas: ▲Artificial Intelligence (Chonnam National University), ▲Big Data (Seoul National University), ▲Next-Generation Semiconductors (Seoul National University), ▲Future Automobiles (Kookmin University), ▲Biohealth (Dankook University), ▲Immersive Media (Konkuk University), ▲Intelligent Robots (Hanyang University (ERICA)), and ▲New Energy Industry.
