Daejeon City Provides 'Wage Support' for New Hires in Small Businesses... Up to 1.2 Million KRW per Month for 3 Months
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is supporting the new employment of local small business owners. The city provides up to 1.2 million KRW per month for up to 3 months to cover the labor costs of newly hired employees.
On the 3rd, the city announced that it will provide additional (3rd round) support for the labor costs of 290 newly hired workers by local small business owners this year.
The target is workers newly hired after January 1st who are still employed at the time of the support application. Only one employee per business is eligible for support.
The support covers about 90% of the labor cost based on the minimum wage, ranging from 470,000 KRW to 1.2 million KRW per person per month depending on working hours, with a maximum support period of 3 months.
The conditions for support require that the newly hired employee is enrolled in the four major social insurances and that the small business owner maintains the number of employees without reduction during the support period. However, those who have previously received support for new employment labor costs are restricted from receiving the payment.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Daejeon Job and Economy Promotion Agency.
