LG Chem to Hire Hundreds of New and Experienced Employees in Advanced Materials Sector
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] LG Chem has started accepting job applications from the 2nd for large-scale recruitment of new and experienced employees. They plan to hire in triple digits across all advanced materials business sectors, including battery materials such as cathode materials and separators, engineering materials like eco-friendly recycled polycarbonate (PCR PC), IT materials such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLED), and advanced materials like reverse osmosis (RO) filters. The company stated that this is the largest single recruitment scale since the launch of the Advanced Materials Business Division in 2019.
Applications will be accepted until the 11th. After document screening, candidates will undergo aptitude tests and first and second round interviews. Final successful candidates will join the company in July, undergo an orientation process, and then be assigned to their respective teams. The company previously announced in its Q1 earnings report that it aims to nearly double the advanced materials division’s sales, which are in the high 4 trillion KRW range this year, within five years.

To foster the battery materials sector, LG Chem is increasing production capacity by expanding existing factories or building new ones. With the ongoing expansion of the Cheongju plant since the end of last year and the completion of the Gumi plant construction starting at the end of this year, LG Chem’s cathode material production capacity will significantly increase from 40,000 tons last year to 260,000 tons by 2026. Additionally, the company has integrated the previously scattered battery materials businesses, such as thermal adhesive and BAS, into the Advanced Materials Business Division.
