Cluster infections at churches and entertainment venues... 52 new COVID-19 cases reported in Ulsan
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] On the 1st, 52 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Ulsan following a church-related cluster infection.
According to Ulsan City, as of 7 p.m. that day, 52 new patients were confirmed as Ulsan cases number 1932 to 1983. By region, there were 8 in Jung-gu, 30 in Nam-gu, 4 in Dong-gu, 8 in Buk-gu, and 2 in Ulju-gun.
Among the new confirmed cases, 14 had contact with one person confirmed the previous day and a church in Nam-gu. Epidemiological investigations revealed that a total of 27 confirmed cases (25 in Ulsan and 2 in Busan) were related to that church.
The city disinfected the church, issued a gathering ban order, and closed the facility. They are identifying church members and religious activities to classify contacts related to the church.
Forty-three cases were contacts of existing confirmed patients, with 12 infected through family transmission. The infection routes of 9 cases have not yet been identified.
Additionally, two more confirmed cases related to entertainment establishments in Nam-gu were reported, increasing the total cumulative confirmed cases to 17 (including 2 in Yangsan).

One more confirmed case related to Nongsu Elementary School was added, bringing the cumulative total to 42, and one more confirmed case related to a cafeteria operating company at a workplace in Buk-gu was added, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases to 28.
